About Spy da Man

Biography:

As old as the hills yet as wise as a new born lamb, I’m in the middle (hopefully) of a life long love affair with music. I love music of all kinds but my life experiences and associated politics led me to favour ghetto music; rap, roots, dancehall, funk and, to a lesser extent, blues.

This is what has always guided me either when playing solo or as part of a sound system and is what gave birth to the Variable Wavelengths philosophy and motto: ‘For mature heads with open minds’.

I’ve always considered myself to be a collector/selector/presenter of music rather than a DJ, that’s an accolade reserved for the likes of my Itch FM brethren, but being a part of the Itch family has improved my DJ skills and the love and support I receive from them all is both inspirational and humbling...
