Cloning to SSD will not turn on the TRIM .... so no, in order for the TRIM to be detected it has to be installed on the SSD. However the spec is fine, you will need to join one of the forums to find someone who has already built the HP G62. Sleep mode can be tricky, the PC uses (at least) S1, S3 and the installation needs to be changed a little to enable this. All other stuff will work once you have added the relevant kexts into the extra directory. If you don't have a mac now, you will need to convert the .pkg into a .dmg then to ISO and install it onto a USB pen. Remember macs use GPT disk format rather than MBR, so if you need to dual boot, your BIOS needs to support that. (I don't bother, i just select which disk to boot from via F12 on boot). All tutorials are documented in the forums. This one maybe a good start. http://flynflip.com/bbforum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6 anyway gotta run, urgent call .... keep intouch. Mark
hello mate, i saw that you said in a post that you have built mac clones for a few years, its something i have really wanted to do with my hp, i do use it to gig with so stability is important. if you dont mind i have a few questions for you, 1, do you think my machine is capable of running osx: HP G62-450SA - Core i3 2.26 GHz 8gb ram, 60gb ocz ssd, 500gb 7200rpm hdd in drive bay. 2, would you advise pulling my ssd and placing another hdd in its place for the initial install and then clone it to the ssd if all goes well. 3, finally, sorry for being so long winded about all of this, do you know of a tutorial that shows clearly step by step for this machine, allowing updates and sleep mode. i do need to add i do not have a mac already to start with. thanks for taking the time to read, any help is greatly appreciated. brian.
