What the heck, they have to provide an mp3, that's digital. They should provide a custom pressed vinyl.
costs 150 to enter and im pretty sure its fixed to be honest....
Calling this discrimination is like saying that disallowing a guitar in a banjo duel is discrimination.
Not quite. They're asking for a DJ who doesn't use a laptop because they're not real DJ's. So it's like disallowing a guitar shaped MIDI controller in a guitar duel.
Which if you think about it is ridiculous, if it plays and sounds like a guitar, then for all intent and purpose it is a guitar.
on the original topic, that is ridiculous. They ask for a digital method to hear your non digital DJing? I'd send them a beastly mixtape and when they say "Yeah you've got what it takes" I'd break the horrible news to them and watch what they reply with. And yeah it probably is rigged.
Anyway, it's their context and their rules. Doubt myself it's an interesting event, anyway.
i have all Chords for a distorted guitar on my traktor as samples, if i play them on a MF i should be able to enter a guitar competition. its producing the same sound. shit like this makes me wonder whats happening in the world. dont get pissed because i can play guitar on a keyboard better than you can on a guitar. its evolution. deal with it.
So, you have to pay to enter and it's also based on how many people you bring with you. Sounds dodgy
