Help with DJ-ing survey
Hey there,
I am doing my Bachelor Degree in Audio Production in SAE Amsterdam and I wanted to ask for your help. My thesis is focused on finding the reason why so many people switch to DJ-ing with software like Traktor and Serato and MIDI controllers. I already established that there is a switch using sales charts I got from a website showing major rise in sales of Digital DJ gear and a drop in CDJs/TTs.
It would be lovely if you can help me out by filling out the survey I have prepared. It's just 9 questions, so It should take you less than 5 mins to complete.
Here it is ----> http://www.thesistools.com/web/?id=221405
Thanks a lot in advance!

I filled it out. I'm not really sure about some of the questions though... very broad in scope therefore won't really provide solid arguments. You also did not account for whether a person has used multiple software packages or their preference is simply the only software they have tried.
I would lengthen the survey and ask more specific questions in different ways in order to get a better indicator of behaviour.

It's a little hard to fill in - I use both turntables and Midi controllers at the same time, as I'm sure a lot of people do
Music Style is also weirdly restricted - I play hip-hop and breaks, oh and swing, jazz etc, etc
I'd seriously reconsider the design of this chap - did you run any test surveys?

Thanks to everyone who filled out the survey and also thanks a lot for the feedback and the suggestions. It means a lot to me. I'll keep them in mind for future surveys, because due to time restraints I can't really edit the survey and then get enough replies again. The results are pretty interesting until now. When I finish with my thesis I can post the results for you guys to see.

Done; I agree with the others - the survey should be expanded if you do further research on this; I had to pick among things where I could easily have picked both (hip hop/electronic, or turntables/midi). Even though it's too late to change your questions, you should include this information in your results - it's notable that responses point to several people using both classic turntable or CD gear alongside MIDI/laptop gear rather than these options being mutually exclusive.
BTW could you post a link or citation for the article you mention that concludes people are switching? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply dude!
