Looking for someone to talk 'DJing' with
This might seem like an unusual request but I'm a college freshman and not a lot of my friends have the same music tastes as I do or dj/produce so I thought Id see if I could find anyone here I could talk to, relate to, and get excited about this kind of stuff with from new music to artists, concerts, gear, etc...
My tastes are a little unusual I suspect. I began my interest with electro house and big room with Monstercat and Spinnin' Records, and I still like that stuff (W&W, Steve Aoki, etc) but now my tastes have shifted more to trance (Armin, Gaia, ASOT, and I love uplifting like Aly&Fila), techno (drumcode, enrico sanguiliano, jay lumen, mark reeve, ANNA, etc), and liquid DnB (LSB, fabio and grooverider, etc).
Been getting really into Deadmau5 and been producing a few tracks in a similar style. I look up to a lot of these 'older' style djs like Carl Cox and follow people like Laidback luke who do nice YouTube blogs and such.
And of course Ive always been a fan of some pop (t swift, daft punk, chainsmokers, etc) and classic rock (I mix this less, but Boston, Muse, Bon Jovi).
I've played out a few times but nothing regular yet-at medium sized Memorial Day town festivals and such. Looking to possibly find a bar gig in the future. I use serato and traktor, with my DDJ SX and Midi fighter twister and do a lot of YouTube mixes, and FL studio for production.
Let me know if you'd like to talk about anything for whatever reason. Doesn't have to be dedicated or long term unless you want it to be :)
