But you can use the updater from a demo reinstall ;)
I still really don't get the point of analyzing tracks with the ipad, it just seems likes another unnecessary point in my workflow. Why analyze tracks on ipad when I can simply do it on my computer
...for when you don't have your computer on you? I could see myself potentially organizing tracks on my iPhone while I'm waiting for an appointment/etc. instead of wasting more time on Facebook or answering e-mail. It's NI's answer to the Rekordbox app; it may only be situationally useful now, but I imagine it will expand in functionality with time. The question is really whether it'll be a paid app or not. If it's free - cool; new functionality is always welcome as long as it isn't prioritized over fixing bugs.
If you want to run it on 10.6.8 you need access to mountain lion or lion, install it there and copy the traktor.app back to your snow leopard install. I only tried the app, I let it set itself up without copying my maps etc, it works fine though, I cant see why snow leopard was dropped.
I've had a very short testrun yesterday and found one very good point; it's great for windows 8 users. It's faster, makes better use of multiple processors (10% usage instead of 15% on my i7) and best is it actually closes when you close it (instead of having to use the taskmanager to really close it).
Another nice thing it doesn't make my vaio go crazy on the cooling fan, which it did for some weird reason with 2.6.0.
I like the key thing, I find it rather usefull that when you press the search button next to it, it comes back with songs in the same key but also with the logical other keys (opposing keys in the camelot circle). Very nice!
how do i get the keys to show will it work on the itunes songs/folder in traktor? how do i analyzzze it to show
Mike Henderson (DJ Endo) - "I did a test this week with the new Key Detection / Harmonic Mixing algorithm in the TRAKTOR Pro 2.6.1 update that just came out today, and also compared its key results with Mixed In Key , Keyfinder, DJay, and even Beatport! I found that based on 125 tracks that I've keyed manually on the piano (5 in each key), Traktor was *92%* correct with its results! Keyfinder was 76% accurate, Mixed in Key is 73% accurate, Algoriddims DJay is ALSO 73% accurate (same as mixed in key), and beatport was 70% correct. With that said, I'm stoked for Harmonic Mixing to be finally built into Traktor!"
Taken from a Facebook status update.
Whats the deal with down beat detection? Is this just an improvement in autogrids?
