for original parts try http://spares.sennheiser.co.uk/ the service is excellent and as its from the supplier you know its not generic copy shite, not sure if they ship worldwide though, but im sure there would be another site as this is just the uk side.

for upgrade parts use http://www.customcans.co.uk/ theyre also on facebook, some of their work is astonishing!

The dudes over here seem to do pretty good cables.

I've been meaning to buy a replacement for mine for ages!

I agree that it is VERY annoying. When I'm in the middle of a mix I don't want to be fooling around unplugging then plugging the contacts. After a search, it seems to be a common problem with the HD25s (I have the HD25-1 II). Communication with Sennheiser is very poor because when I try to explain the problem, they just tell me to send them back. I don't want to keep sending them back and incurring shipping expense if they can't even fix them.
Howdy. Just found this thread and thought I would stick my oar in. As you may have guessed, working at custom cans I have repaired quite a few pairs of HD25.
The issue with the connector is normally easy to fix. Inside the earcup sockets are two small springs which the HPSC ( two pronged ) connectors fit into. The crackle / lose connection has two causes.
    1) The spring sometimes builds up some oxidization. This is why sennheiser clean the socket to fix them. You can normally fix it your self by plugging and unplugging the connector 5 - 10 times. This will wear away the oxidization and clear any dust / fluff and give you a good connection again.
    2) The spring can develop a gap where the prong goes in. This is not as easy to fix and you need to be a bit brave.
    A) You will need to remove the pad ( best to take the whole earcup off )
    B) Take a small flat head screw driver and lift up the grill ( start where it is shown in the photo and work your way round ) It will un-clip safely just be carefull

    C) Carefully move the voice coil wires out of the way of the white plastic cap

    D) Remove the plastic cap with some small pliers

    E) Underneath you will find the offending springs ( Show here with the connectors plugged in to show how the socket works. Take your small flat head screw driver and stick it in the end coils and twist it to make the gap in the spring bigger at the ends and thus smaller in the middle where the pin clicks in. This will give it a nice tight connection

    Then stick them back together.

    Hope this helps

    Dude. You're a legend, IMO.

My Sennies work fine, but now I'm going to check out customcans and see if I can't spend some of my money ...

    UPDATE!!
I would not try opening the grille - since posting this I have had a spate of people who have damaged the voice coils by not moving them out of the way properly.

Instead of opening the grill just take a look at the pics so you can see how the socket works. Then rather than popping off the grille just look down the holes in the socket and you will see the spring coils inside. Then you and Use a pin the re ajust the spring to get a good connection without opening the driver
That way no matter how ham fisted you are you should not do any permanent damage. If you need any help or advice feel free to PM me

I know, I always say that about sportscars when something goes wrong with them.

'A flat tire?! If this damn thing was any good it wouldn't get no flat tire dammit!'

Oh, and people go on about those headphones because they are one of the industry standard used headphones of many many professional artists.

The one great thing about the Sennheiser hd25 imho is that if something breaks you can simply replace it.

Unlike many other DJ headphones I feel this is a massive Plus.

They also sound AMAZING & fit your head tightly so whilst going Crazy you don't lose them.

    Peace

yes the parts are replaceable but depending on which ones are broken, it costs a bomb to fix!

recently my hd25 drivers died and the local senheiser wants $150 SGD (about a bit more than $100 USD) to get it fixed , so instead i bought a brand new shiny audio technica ATH-M50 with the same amount of money

i will fix / mod my trusty old hd25 one day but in the meantime im actually enjoying the awesome isolation and sound of the ATH-M50, having used the hd25 for so long its refreshing to use a good quality, fresh set of headphones for a change

the only downside to the ATH-M50 is that its a bit heavier than the ultra lightweight hd25, but the M50 give way better isolation if that matters to you
