He does. And everything he said needed saying.

    I hope I'm in the sub-10%.

But I don't like those odds...

We'll have to agree to disagree then. I come from a musician/performance background. Multiple national tours with a variety of different ensembles before I even graduated high school, subbing in broadway orchestras and the like to get through college, so on and so forth. None of that would've happened if I just stayed in my bedroom practicing for 12 hours a day. I put myself out there, tripped and fell multiple times, got back up and got better as a result. Music, in general, would be hundreds of years behind where it's at if it wasn't for people just throwing themselves out there even if they weren't necessarily ready for it.

There are certain skills and perceptions you simply cannot learn in your bedroom.

Don't know why it would surprise or upset people that since there are more people DJing because of synch that there would be more bad DJs. But there have been really bad DJs long before computers came along. People should be happy.

Yours is a good point, Stilsky - but I know you must have gotten to at least an upper/higher-intermediate standard before you started taking those brave leaps.

When you don't have the talent to warrant taking brave leaps, you're actually just being fool hardy, and deserve what is going to happen.

You are right about learning, too. But learning the hard way repeatedly can be damaging.
