I would try and walk the line between top-40 and the mash-ups and remixes of top-40 songs. Try and throw a little of both in there and the house/electro remixes will help get you through the night because they're going to be longer than the original songs. I'm not saying throw on a ton of remixes but I would bet that people would be happy to hear remixes of songs they already know just to keep it fresh

Nothing wrong with throwing in some top 40 remixes in my opinion. I have remixes that have more energy and make the crowd move more then the originals.

Nothing wrong with remixes at all. It's when you get into the harder electro house or dub step remixes of top 40 songs that aren't geared more towards the general public that you run into problems.
