Default Recommend a powered USB hub please!

After my powered controller, I want to run my launchpad S, but getting disconnection, the launchpad 'crashes' and freezes. An unplug/replug fixes it, but it just drops out and freezes at random times. Sometimes not crashing at all. When it crashes, the LED's on the controller 'freeze' too, and resume when the Launchpad is unplugged.
Most LED's on the LP are lit, (50+) and it will only run properly from the USB 3 port.
I'm convinced it's the USB power supply.

Lappy is a Lenovo Z50-70, it's done this from day one, it's not a new problem, but it's starting to annoy me considering I use launchpad a lot of the time live.

I was looking at the D-Link dub h7.

    Is this a decent hub?
    Cheers..!

It absolutely infuriates me that so many of us still have USB issues.

There are favourite hubs out there, but for everyone that is happy with one hub, there'll be people that are still having issues...

The one thing I loved about firewire was the reliability of daisy chaining devices.

I hope USB-C, when more widely adopted will help with the majority of these kinda issues

Here is the blog article about hubs http://djtechtools.com/2015/02/02/us...-or-unpowered/

I use the cheap 4 port targus that Ean uses running 2 X1's, Spectra and Twister with no issues. Soundcard runs on a dedicated port (recommended)
    Acer E5 i7 16GB 512SSD 2TBHD ~ WIN 10 ~ TSP 2.11 ~ AUDIO 6 ~ DUAL X1s ~ DN-X1600 ~ SPECTRA ~ TWISTER ~ ATH-PRO500 MK2 ~ ZED6FX ~ AT2020
