    Default Setting up Traktor / Kontrol X1 MK2 / DJM-850

Hi there, I need some pointers on making a simple setup between the following equipment:

    - Windows 10 64-bit PC running Traktor Pro 2
    - Kontrol X1 MK2
    - DJM-850

I want to mix externally on the DJM-850 and control playback and Traktor's internal effects with the Kontrol X1. I'm preparing ahead for an upcoming gig and I've downloaded the Windows drivers already but I have no access to the DJM-850 as I write this so I am unable to try anything out. Most of the instructions that I've read (and the video tutorials I have seen) deal with making things work with either timecode vinyls or CDs, but no specific instructions on non-timecode setups.

In short can someone tell me what are the settings that need to be configured in Traktor, and similarly on the DJM-850?

Just installs the driver for the 850, and when you get to the venue (early!), plug it in, go to prefs and make sure Traktor is set to external mode, and channels A&B are routed tot he right ones on the mixer.

Hey man, thanks for the tips. Are there extra settings I need to configure on the DJM-850 itself? In many of the tutorials it says to switch the input selector at the top of each channel to USB as well, plus some extras in something called the DJM setting utility. Are those required if I'm not using timecode?

At the very least, you'll need to change the inputs to USB. I don't know the mixer enough to comment further. That's why I suggest you get there early.

its the same setup as with timecode except you wont be utilizing the timecode. Don't stress. It is way easier than you think.
