Default Desperately seeking Korg Zero4/8 users

Guys, when you bought your Traktor certified mixers, you got a 7" Timecode Vinyl with the pack.

Most people threw these away in favour of the 12" TCV

I WANT THEM !!!!!!!! I am willing to buy them, swap them for 12" TCV, whatever you want (within reason obviously).

Korg no longer stock them, NI haven't had them for ages and won't make new ones ... so i have to ask the community.

Does anyone have the 7" TCV that they are willing to part with?

NI refuse to make them for purchase in the shop but I spoke to the Lead DJ Product Specialist last week and we spoke about the 7" and i told him that NI should definitely produce them for the shop and they would sell out quickly. He agreed, although its not his place to decide of they should make them again.

Ill remind him and NI of it, maybe they will reproduce them again. For reasons I cant explain, i think that there is a good chance they may do it. (maybe).

Did you try posting on the Korg forums... Many people have bought Zero 4/8 mixers for production and Live use and have no use for the timecode. Someone maybe willing to sell one to you.

Please note that each mixer only came with One record, not a pair.

Just out of interest, what timecode are you willing to swap..?

I spoke to them myself a few weeks back (I think i also spoke to you some time ago about it). I thought the zero 4 had 1 vinyl and the 8 had 2 ??? (i'm probably wrong).

I have posted on the Korg forums, but no-one replied ...maybe because i'm not a regular poster (it was my first and last post).

As for swapping Timecode vinyl ... i'll get whatever is needed .... neons, colours, straight black ... I need the 7" far more than the 12" .. so whatever is needed.

That's right. 7" (inch) rather than 12", the same size as a 45. I've been playing 45's for about 25 years and have most of my bookings on the basis of the 45 collection. taking 2 12" DVS vinyl's means i have to take an extra box. I use the DVS system to call up tracks I've not taken with me due to either their value or rarity, and I can't take everything i own due to only allowed to take about 150 of them in a record case onto a plane, (cabin restrictions on weight.)

What do you play if it's on old, rare 45's? (I'm guessing reggae/dub?)

If you're feeling crazy - why not just cut the 7" out of your 12"'s? You'd need to set the lead-in time in Traktor to suit, but i can't see any reason why it wouldn't work?

You can spend a pissing fortune on old Northern Soul - for a good period of time one of the most expensive records in the world was a Northern Soul tune (Frank Wilson / Do I Love You, Indeed I Do was around £20,000 IIRC? and some classics like Bobby Reed / The Time is Right for Love is not cheap either)

I don't play either, I play rare soul including northern, R&B from the 50's and 60's, Latin Boogaloo, British beat, dancefloor jazz (think london in the 90's).

As for cutting them, tried that and they don't work well. Firstly the track time is all screwed up as I don't have space to cut 10 mins onto a 45, plus I didn't have room to add the track selection.

One answer to that would be for someone to rip their 7" into a WAV and I have that carved.

I did answer this one another thread, but flying around the globe with the vinyl has become almost impossible due to luggage restrictions (and they ain't going in the hold due to their value and rarity). So i have only one box with me ... the TCV would have to go in a suitcase (which they did the last trip to Munich) and they get damaged.

BTW ... I guess you don't come from a vinyl background ... there was a time when ALL music came on a 7" .. it was the 70's that brought out the extended 12" mixes .... the things I play are from before that time.
