    Default Livid's (+Dubspot) new MIDI controller: DS1

New collaboration between Livid Instruments and Dubspot:

Looks pretty sweet. Would have been awesome if some of the knobs had center detents, but this still looks amazing as a standalone for Traktor internal mixing + FX control :-)

This looks totally amazing. Just gotta get a nice box of buttons to go with it. OH WAIT.

If they added a Button Grid I'd be inclined to agree the way its laid out realistically only gives you control of one scene at a time if you intend using cues (which would eat a second row - and no switching scenes is not an option for something as minor IMHO).

An Add-on module with the 8 encoders and 4x8 grid would be bloody brilliant!

The aging VCM600, despite being 6 channels is probably well more suited to Ableton in a similar build quality package, and while I love my Akai I'm really missing regular channel EQ's. Nothing on the market is quite hitting the spot for me yet, this included.

Akai - No Regular channel EQ's, kinda Plasticy.
Vestax - No Endless Encoders for Racks, no real grid, but plenty of buttons that can be re-assigned as one.
Livid - No proper Launch Grid, No 8x2 Rack knobs.
Push - No Faders, Lack of Knobs.

Yeah, really love the Compact and Universal versions of the X-TOUCH.

Can't wait to see if Behringer will decide to overhaul their BCR2000 as well!
    (Starts daydreaming again!)
