    Default Intro DVS Questions

So this is my second time typing this since it timed out so I am less patience. Lol hey y’all, new, questions bout DVS.

I am adverse to computers, I very happily own a Chromebook lol. Got a Stanton 4DJ, glad I did, but y’all know why I’m dreamin.

    Proposed set up (Question):
-Bulky old laptop (Ubuntu, most likely. Any narrowing of laptops?)
-Behringer UFO202 soundcards (are these shit? If so explanation and suggestions?)
-Behringer DX626 + Mini Inno (will this fit?)
-1200s or TTXs (economic alternatives welcome)

    Thanks for the help y’all

You will need two of those audio interfaces in aggregate to get DVS. I'd also guess, being Behringer, they'll have shit drivers and shoddy build. Same with the mixer. Personally, I'd suggest getting something like the DJTech DIF-1M, and running the Linux version of Mixxx to get timecode.

That DJTech mixer was my first look, I was just lookin for a cheapy 3 way, but I’m sure you right. Particular reason for preference of Mixxx over xwax? And suggestions on sound cards? I know nothing

Mixxx uses the xwax code for DVS, you just have way more features. And don't look for a cheap way out. "Buy cheap, buy twice." The DIF-1M is a solid mixer. Not the best, but certainly will get you going.

Got a dn x120 for $80, hell yuh.

Anyone got suggestions on how to narrow down what kinda laptop to get? It really will just be used for djing, so I just needa know what hardware equates to having the capacity to run Mixxx.

Anything with an I7 dual core 2.5ghz + will give you what you need for that price range.

Avoid celeron like the plague. Pipeline handling is a nightmare with linux. Also avoid any of the mini HP series laptops (stream, etc) as you will run into driver issues (such as touchpad not working) on different linux distros.
