The A&H xone k2 looks pretty close ... just missing a xfader and the master output lighting
Yeah I had a look at the K2, functionally it would work, I just think they missed a trick with it. The top row of rotary's (Which I would plan to use as gains) are not smooth like the 3 below (Which I would map as the 3 eq's)
The pads are nice and responsive, but would be a bit redundant when used with an X1 as this will do all of the selecting/effects.
Would like to see NI/Pioneer come up with a version... NI's new mixer looks cool but will be priced HIGH!
That's because A&H's main goal wasn't to make a MIDI mixer but an addon controller. Using making the top row regular knobs wouldn't work in all scenarios since a lot of people use autogain.
Thanks for the reply Padi, but have you ever used JUST the autogains within Traktor? Your sound is almost all over the place..
Understandable that the K2 wasn't designed to be a MIDI mixer, but it would be nice for a manufacturer like NI or Pioneer to make one.. They have MIDI controllers for everything else, other than the actual mix itself..
It gets it right on most of my library, needing only adding/taking 1db on a few odd ones and having that saved you shouldn't need to touch it again. Keep in mind autogain applies to a track only after you have analysed it, if you loaded it before that you need to do it again for the changes to apply.
Autogain works great for me.
And I think the Behringer CMD series is pretty close to what you want.
