Default HID to MIDI on OS X? Help!

So I've been trying to figure out how to use a game controller to run Traktor MIDI commands. For a while I was trying with Multicontrol (http://www.arj.no/2008/02/25/multicontrol-v04/) but was having the problem described here: http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11503 ... basically I can't figure out how to get Traktor to recognize the game controller as sending MIDI signals through IAC.

So I found a different program called MIDIHID (http://code.google.com/p/midihid/downloads/list) which looks a lot easier to use, and it got me a little farther. My settings in this program show up in Traktor and I can select it as a MIDI controller and when I use the "Learn" command, Traktor recognizes the data, but it looks like it is all mapped to the same command -- Ch01.CC.0001 -- no matter what button or fader I touch the same thing comes up. There isn't much interface on MIDIHD -- there is a response in a console to every movement of the MIDI controller, but there doesn't seem to be any way to map any specific control to any specific data.

Has anyone else used either of these programs? There is a $60 program, Junxion, but I'd definitely prefer for one of the free solutions to work. And Junxion does not look much better in terms of user interface, so I'm not even guaranteed this will work. Anyone have suggestions?

I have the same problem. Basically you have to use MIDIHID to code in each individual button in the main script screen. Its a bitch and I have not been bothered to do it yet. At the moment MIDIHID is recognising every button as the same command and the only way you can change that is to go to http://www.polhosting.info/web-archi...ons/index.html and follow the coding instructions.

If you have any luck let me know.
