Discontinuation of the CDJ

thats what i was thinking i never saw them discontinue the cdj-800 for people to move to the 1000

Makes sense to me.
They have far too large product line. This was always gonna be the case when the 900 and 2000 came out.

They are probably selling shit loads of 400s to every bedroom dj in the world.
Most clubs have 1000s already and any new clubs are forced to buy 2000s.

Dont get me wrong, i like the 1000mk3 (despite it being under-featured) but a company brings out new models and discontinues old models. Thing is that the 1000 has become industry standard and to be honest i think a companies future business cant rely on 'industry standards' cus these days things develop much quicker. I dont think anything will be the standard anymore.

Theyve had exactly 10 years at the top with the 1000. Time to move on.

Yeah not shocked. It's the dawn of a new era, anything which isn't "future proofed" (i.e: HID, MIDI, etc) is sort of behind the times according to todays needs.
