Default Audio 8 to Firewire 800 port

Would it be safer to run the Audio 8 sound-card through the standard cable it comes with or can I run it through my firewire port? if firewire can some one send me the link for the cable..

yeah and I honestly wouldn't trust a Firewire to USB crossover. Seems like it cause issues.

In theory it would be possible because both ports use allmost identical cabling and data transmission methods (even though they go about doing it in different ways). however you would need a translation box (this would cause latency you could program one using a assembly language though) in the cross over cable to convert the signal. You would have to write a firewire version of the driver for the audio 8 as i would think the port would only accept a incoming firewire signal. All in all it really is not worth the effort.
