Yeah I'm down for the idea of more mods. Tekki should definately be one... if hes not already. Cant remember.

Also need tougher signup stuff. If possible.

Ya they were put up while i was sleeping, were going to have to add some anti-spam detection to the sign up process - hopefully we can avoid using captcha's though

Oh also this user is getting an IP ban so they wont be a problem for much longer, for some stupid reason i cant do IP bans on the admin panel though and we have to edit the .htaccess file which Tekki is taking care of as part of his contribution of working on the site.

Good news, IP bans have been put on the offending IP addresses (thanks goes to Tekki). We are also in the process of considering different ways that we can prevent the spam to begin with, most likely we will start with a simple question answer on the sign-up and see how that goes for starters. Hopefully we can sort something out to allow IP bans off the admin panel as well to allow for faster response times to banning spammers.

Luckily however i have been able to keep on top of the spam before anyone's been able to see it, but today it was up for a couple hours before i could get to it. We have actually been attacked a few times in the last few days which has been pretty annoying.

So in short, we have some short term measures in place to stop the spam while we discuss what preventative measures that will be taken - we are not about to let spam take over the boards any time soon !

TBH, it would help me to have some rights, in order for me to gather IP addresses. But for now.... this will do.
