    My mom did bonsai while I was growing up. They are really special but require a LOT of maintenance. The thing that always bugged me was the tying of the roots, it just seem cruel. Like the way the Chinese would tie the feet of baby girls so they would have "beautiful" arched feet, but they could never walk...
