Default beat masher or beat slicer?

    which do you prefer?

it's slicer for me, just more interesting to use, and it samples for 8 beats and masher can be replicated with loops

    What about both/neither is better?
They do different things, I use them both for different sounds.
Usually I'll tweak the beatmasher more than the slicer more while it's on, but I love the slicer for the quick break.

hahahah....same here. Perhaps I just don't get the concept of the slicer. Tried it a few times, never got it to sound well.

can you guys explain a bit how you are using slicer vice beatmasher?

Use the slicer on lyrics or those gaps you get between phrases sometimes. Plus the slicer acts just like the beatmasher when you only use its 3rd knob in advanced mode (all other knobs set to zero). I never use the beatmasher anymore :P Well except in Eans presets for fader FX mode.

Slicer doesn't lend itself that well to very "straight" drum patterns, IMO. - It adds too much funk to something that should sound more driving... But on syncopated breaky patterns I think it sounds great. I think I have mine set to 3 for knob two and 4 for knob three, (I think) leaving the glitch off, dry/wet at max. Most of the time I'll turn it on not at the downbeat, but at the upbeat. Like One And Two and Three and....

    BOTH AT THE SAME!

Jester is full of shit the crowd loves it when you crank the beatmasher to max and the slicer to glitch!

But seriously grab lyrics or break downs with the slicer then bring them back in over beats for a cool live remix effect
