    Default Pay'd for a Gig

So I'm just wondering how much you guys are making for a gig?

I know that it ranges from different gig depending on where and for how long so give some background about what gig it was and then how much you were paid for it..

I'm playing a graduation party next week for 2 hours and I have no idea how much to ask for :s

The host is providing CDJ's and equipment all I have to do is bring my headphones and DJ for 2 hours... It's going to from 10-12.. I'll be like the chill-mixing into the dance house for the DJ coming on after me

    Thanks

It depends on the place....genre and amount of people.

I always ask for at least 10 x the cover charge of the party.

This way, if its small....i don't get paid a HUGE sum and its fair.

If its a HUGE party....i will get paid HUGELY....and its fair.

If its not a covert charge kinda party....ask what you think you are worth and a bit more.

They will try and knock you down a bit.

10 times the amount to get into the party.

If it costs 10 bux....i would want 100.

If its 50....i would want 500.

    If you worth it....its fair.

you can also think about your time per hour.

If I bring all my shit then you are paying for my service and my equipment. If its just to play chill music for 2 hours then probably less. What is the hourly rate in your area.
