Need some inputs for live production instruments

Hi ,

I hope you won 't mind if I use this topic to ask for some help.
my mates and I are looking to buy some gears to now produce live performances in addition of the dj side.

What we look for
Some portable and efficient stuff in order to produce or remix live.
So far, I bought an mpk from akai but it requires to have a pc or laptop all the time.
We now would like to invest in a full solution and not too expensive (I m a dreamer)

To give you an idea, I checked and saw the following :
Roland MC808 : a bit difficult to find
Korg EMX 1 : very portable and kicking sound but a bit old already
the new Miniak from akai : very portable and some crazy embedded sound

All of those are below $500 which is largely enough for a start.

I will really appreciate if you guys who use those gears above or other can give me your feedback (some vids will be so great as I did not find anything really concrete on youtube)

thanks for this first return.
I will prefer something not controlled by a pc (we have some many of them already on stage) but something more like..that all of us can take home and play with ,just to start and be able to produce something during lives.
