Are you a musician?

As an aside - I find it intersting that several very succesfull producers I have spoken to draw a clear line between being a producer and being a musician - one that is not marked by using a computer vs using a physical instrument.

For them it is a difference in mindset...

I played guitar since I was 8 and performed in a few bands, mostly punk. I don't like to get bogged down in the meaning of words, but I think "musician" is more a spectrum rather than a black or white equation.

What attracted me to this site and controllerism in general is that it is all about putting more "musicianship" into DJing and electronic music production.
