Default DIY Traktor controller (with 7" LCD display and 2 x XP10's)

Please see the attachment below for all the juicy details.

The Samsung 7" display shows the waveforms from Traktor - this is achieved by using a bit of software called MFD Extractor:

My plan is to build the controller using the Livid Builder DIY board (http://www.lividinstruments.com/hardware_builder.php). I'm going to order in all the parts over the next few weeks but thought I should mock it up in Photoshop just incase I've missed something.

    Thoughts?

    That looks wicked, Milo!

You do good work always mate, good to see you're still up to it!

Give me a shout of If you want a hand with planning, drawing that thing, or whatever. I'd be happy to lend a hand.

EDIT: Hey, guess what the bot dug up.

If you're still doing this thing, post!

I'm pretty close to giving up tbh...

The thing is, I really enjoy doing this stuff but anything less than what I've proposed is going to be a disappointment (for me at least).

And it really hasn't helped that the Novation Twitch is about to come out! What's the point of spending months designing and making a DIY controller which will cost more and not work as well as something like the Twitch?

The question is, am I going to sell all the bits I've bought for this project and buy the Twitch, or keep both and maybe continue with the project further down the road?

I think this is a good topic for a discussion on its own actually... maybe I'll start a "staying motivated" thread later this week.

Don't sell all the bits, you've put so much work into it. But do buy the Twitch

Keep bits and combine them with the twitch for a hybrid setup

Don't sell! But if you do, sell it to me, so I can finish it / make something good of it

In my opinion it's not about making something that'll be "as good" as whatever Novation put out (Although, don't get me wrong, they do make some great products), it's about that lust for creation, and making something that is completely your own.

About staying motivated. I actually started a 3D drawing of that controller when I saw the thread, I just kind of stopped when I looked at the date
