Default A quick Q about sound

Ok just sold my audio 2 soundcard as saving for a firewire card
so just using my built in laptop sound card at the moment and asio4all

now everything is fine apart from when i have traktor or live open and asio4all comes on my standed sound from say firefox, youtube, itunes wont work

so is there away to make my default sound asio4all as well so i dont have to keep closeing and opening programs for one or the other to work

as if i use default sound in live i get so much latency.

    p.s using vista

Asio4all effectively provides an asio interface for non asio WMD drivers to your DJ software of choice. The effect this has is that the asio interface takes exclusive control of the sound hardware, so the bottom line is... if you are using asio4all, you can't 'share' the sound card across multiple applications.

True, but you can configure itunes and other applications to run on asio as well.. that's how I fixed it back in the days.

yeah..this is a common problem with digidesign hardware as well. if one application is using it, it's off limits to any subsequent programs that want to run it. in order to free it up, the application using the card needs to be quit (or a different card needs to be selected in the programs settings).
