Default Buying a B-52 Matrix 2000 PA setup

So I'm getting a [potentially] great deal on a used PA system this weekend. It's the b52 Matrix 2000 set /w [2] 300 watt 2 way monitors [12 inch] and 600 18 inch sub [1200 watts total]. He says it's in great condition, as he stopped using it when he upgraded to some crazy JBL system. All in all it will cost $500. They normally go for $1500-2000

Has anyone here had any experience with this set up? The reviews online have been stellar, but I'm always wondering what my fellow toolers are thinking...

    Cheers,

    Joe

I am selling a Matrix 1000 for $500 and it's mint! That is a great deal you're getting! The best part of the Matrix systems is the crossover. Systems don't usually come with a crossover until the $3,000+ range.

    Default Matrix 2000

I have owned a Matrix 2000 system for 3 years now and it is a beast! The Sub fits most rooms up to 200 people and the monitors fill rooms of the same size. Do not use a compressor/limiter you do not need any outboard gear with this system. You will blow out the plate amp. Straight from the mixer to the amp, amp to the speakers and you are ready to roll. Hopefully you are getting the covers as well because they help to keep the system looking nice. 500.00 huh I would buy it in a heart beat. Mine was $1600.00 us with no cables or stands so grab it quick!

i had a 2000 in my fraternity basement at school..... they werent bad but when i first got em (3 yrs into hard usage) they were pretty thrashed (lasted maybe like 7 months after i first experienced em)

not bad, but the peavys we replaced it with blew it outta the water.... but used? fuck yeah man grab that shit

im doing the math, and the setup im looking at will be close to the 2000 new ** but im not really too keen on owning a set myself as you really need the sub at all times with the 12's**
