    Default modifiers question for traktor

    Hi all,

I understand how modifiers work; pressing a button allows you to
assign a different control to a button/slider/knob. I'm using some in traktor
for the buttons on my x-session pro.

    My question...

Say I assign a modifier to a knob on my x-session pro.
e.g. I assign the headphone volume function to the pot that i use for
Low EQ. So - without modifier it works as low EQ. Press and hold modifier key the knob controls the volume of my headphones

I then wish to alter the low eq again.
As soon as I touch the knob, it jumps to where the knob is pointed and doesn't just move as if i was using the mouse or the knob was in the centre point.

Is this just the way of things unless you have a rotary pot like on the NI kontrol x1 that keeps on turning for ever?
Or is there a way to allow me to use both functions on the one knob?

Sorry this is a bit long winded...

You might wanna try messing about with soft takeover otherwise it'll always jump back to where the pot is *now*.
With soft-takeover enabled, you have to catch up with the previous position before it starts moving again.

its at the bottom of the mid set up page, click on soft take over and the eq will stay put
until the hardware goes past the current setting
