Default Harmonic mixing with Traktor's Key?

This just occured to me the other day and I was wondering if anyone with a bit of music theory knowledge could help me out... I use the Camelot's system to code the key of my tracks so would it be possible to use Traktor's "Key" function to adjust the key of tracks that usually wouldn't go together so that they would?

For example, 11B is A Major and 1B is B Major. Could I set the key of the 11B track to +2.00 to make them both 1B? (My reasoning here is that the key goes up to 12, so I'm guessing that that is one octaves worth, hence jumping up only 2.00 would move me up from A to A sharp then to B). Does this work?

It works in theory, but in practice it can cause the songs to start sounding a little "wonky". I use it on some songs though. Mess around and see if it sounds good when you're cueing it up, if so, go for it.

Yes you can, as Drew said, but I find any change over +/-3 or 4 does sound "wonky". So i just use that for songs with in 1 and 1/2 steps musically(3 knotches on the key knob).

Sweet! Yeah I get the wonky thing as well but it seems to sound alright up to about 3. So each notch takes you up one key on the keyboard basically? Is that right? Also Is it possible then to match a minor key to major key? Or does that not work...

I am so stuck on Serato. Traktor can "key" your songs. Damn, I been sleeping. I always used a program outside of Serato to change the key, then mix with it. Doesn't keying your song during your mix take major computer resources?

Yes, Traktor has a key knob which can step up or step down your key 12 steps (one octave). It doesn't seem to hurt the computer too much but as mentioned above anything over three steps starts to sound a bit grainy and stuttery....
