Hi,
Is it possible to keep genres of music separate in Traktor Pro? I know you can if you create playlists but in the main window is that possible to keep my dance music and ambient completely separate?
Cheers.

The 'main window' is the Track Collection. This shows all music in the collection and is not definable.
You can sort by genre and see the files line up.
Best thing to do is use Playlists.
iTunes is good because you can have Smart Playlists that sort by genre.
Hopefully Traktor will soon have Smart Playlists.
There is no "main window" feature in TPRO in otherwords, i don't know what you talking about, but i assume>
u mean, like having 2 separate Traktor Collections? you can do that manually. you can clear your collection from all EDM and keep only ambient and save it / then you just copy traktor collection backup to another destination and label it as ambient. U do that once again with your whole collection, but this time you do it other way around, so in collection stays only EDM. save it like above and label it edm. now before every session you can choose which collection you want to use, but you will have to manualy copy your backed up and selected collection to traktor folder. But that is pretty ghetto, managing your playlist should be better!

what i do is that i analyze all my music, then make playlists.
Always sort out new msuic AS SOON AS YOU GET IT.
itll save you the hassle of doing loads later
