Default Traktor - What the actual hell?

I'm looking around about this on the forum, and one guy has said he managed to fix it by disabling something in his control panel but unfortunatley didn't say what,

So.. I open up traktor, load a song on to deck one, press play and the song is slightly sped up, and there is a crackling noise like a real mashed up vynl playing throughout,

Music playing through speakers and headphones duel 0 and 1

    --

If anybody could help, id much appreciate it,

Hi btw, i'm jack, new to DJ'ing, but unsure yet wether to go with traktor, or another prog Cheers lads, and ladies!

What OS are you using? What sound card? Try rebooting your computer

What's your latency set at in the preference pane? Around 10ms is usually pretty good, the higher it goes the less of a chance for sound problems. I don't use Windows, but I see lots of people prefer Asio4All over OE sound drivers.

"plays faster" sounds like different sample rates in Traktor and in the audio control panel (=> start/run/mmsys.cpl) For instance my laptop's built-in audio was set at 48khz by default but traktor was at 44.1khz.
Setting that right will get rid of the pitch/speed issue.
Setting up asio4all on top of that will take care of the crackles.

If you are using an internal sound card you are very likely going to run into huge sound issues with any DJ software after a small amount of time. Look into getting an interface and I wouldn't be surprised if all of these problems go away.

Or try out ASIO4All instead of the standard sound drives for now.
    It's the FAQ. Read it.

We were all there once mate!!

HEHEHE....I should actually lookup my first few posts...to see what a noob I was and the questions i asked.

Do yourself a favour and check out the DJTechtools channel on Youtube. Watch all the vids and check it out on Traktor for yourself.

    It will makes BIG sense...

Then...check out the FAQ, there are some REAL interesting stuff in there that will help you on your way.

It made my transition to digital ... a breeze!!!
