Because arcade buttons were too expensive to manufacture and take up too much space on the controller. I'd guess that entire controller cost less than $80 to manufacture lol

Arcade Buttons take up a lot of space. While it IS a big controller, it's probably one of the spots where they wanted to keep it completely professional looking and maintain symbiosis with the rest of the build.
While I think arcade buttons are great in concept, it doesn't appeal to everyone. And by the look of the current buttons, they look a lot better than much of the competition and I'm sure the "feel" of them was something well taken into account.
