Default Problem with Vci 100 and USB hubs

Hey so I've been trying to figure out how to get the VCI-100 to work with an external USB hub, but I have not found an answer yet. This thread on the NI forums was the closest I have gotten.

Has anyone been able to figure this out?

I read some of that thread, but i'm not real sure what your problem is. can you explain on here what's happening or not happening?

If the VCI is not powering up when plugged into a USB hub it's because it's not a multi TT hub. Basically some hubs powered or not have these TT "chips" that are transaction translators. If they do not have them for each slot then you still get a bottleneck. This thread has a list of hubs that have been confirmed by the manufacturer to have multi TT's.I'm using the F4U017 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub with power adapter and it works fine.

If your having latency problems or other issues let us know what they are. Also list your computer specs and what software your using.

7 ports, 8 bucks -- once I figured out this worked flawlessly I ordered a backup. You can't beat the price and this runs my VCI, MIDI Fighter, Trigger Finger, Logitech Joystick, SCS3d, Novation Keyboard AND Audio 8 soundcard, all without even using the power adapter. I don't use the 3d much and sometimes plug in the APC40 instead (though that has its own power). Again everything works flawlessly as far as I can tell, and everything gets the power that it needs. The only thing I can't do without the power adapter is run an external hard drive, but I wouldn't use a hub for that anyway.
