Default Breadboarding my own firmware kit

I am very interested in making my own firmware kit, since I am a student in computer engr. and also because I would like to do the fw 1.4 upgrade asap, (also too because 25 is a lot of money for a poor student and I have ready access too lots of circuitry and free supplies). I am having trouble finding the model and p/n of the level converter being used, do you guys have a schematic/wiring diagram available?

this forum seems to have the info one needs

though it isn't concise and is a refining of the method, as I do this I will try to make a little tutorial that is concise (hopefully with pics if the cam is working)
