    Default Beatport question

does anyone know if its possible anywhere on Beatport to find out the key of a song before you buy it? It strikes me that this would be very useful, but i have no idea if that feature exists or not...

It might pay off to memorize some of the rules here

    http://www.playpiano.com/Articles/24-majorkeyof.htm

and just learn to listen to the music and identify them on the fly.

Hmmm... I'd buy a good tune no matter what key it was in. Else all my tunes would be in A minor.

I've noticed I tend to favor my Am tracks, usually without even realizing which key they're in.

    I wonder why that is?

I can see online music outlets moving this way in the future. But for now, we must do it ourselves. Fair enough though. I like not being spoon fed.

Its more a time saver than anything, if i'm looking for a song in a particular key, it would be nice to have that info readily avaliable if i have a list of 30 songs to choose from. Yes i am fully capable to go through each individuall track and find the key, but for the sake of saving time, personally i'd rather Beatport have this info on hand.

It's because there are more of them than anything else. Minor keys sound more epic and A minor uses the white keys on the keyboard so is the easiest key to produce in.
