Default Painting jog plates on VCI-300

I was thinking about re-painting the black platter metal plates on the VCi-300
to something different or spraying some logo on them.
Would it affect the platter sensor ?

I think, I read somewhere on this forum that the the plates are electrostatic
(like mouse pad on laptop) & painting them is a big NO NO unless you use special paint on them?

check the Controllers, Mods and Gear Reviews section u might be able to dig something up there..

I ended up paint stripping mine and buffing the hell out of them, i think they look alot better than being painted personally - shiney !

But yeah as moomin says you should really use a paint thats conductive so you dont lose any jog sensitivity.

That said, someone did mention they had plastic car wraps over their jogs and the sensitivity worked fine. If you want to test to see if what your putting on is going to work paint the back side of the jog first and the plate onto the unit upside down to do a test run.
