    Default Lagy macbook pro

    HEllo Everybody.
I recently upgraded my 13 macbook pro. I upgraded the ram to 8 GB and gave it a 500GB (5400Rpm) Disk and gave it a fresh install. With this much RAM i thought that i would work even better. But everything works Lagy. If i open up a browser, finder, preferences doesent matter there is always like a 1-2 sec lag befor it starts working. of course it also reflexes on Traktor every time i load a song a 2 second screen lag, the sound is ok but, it really bothers me!
Any idea how to check whats going on? Like i said even the most basic operation has like a 2 second lag, so something shurely isnt oke.

    Thx.

have you run a cleanup with Onyx?

    If not, do it.

make sure you repair the permissions on your HHD and make sure nothing is running in the background.

    Got enough HHD space?

Is the RAM the correct RAM for the lappy?

    Tried another profile?

Even so, it would then just not see the second 4.

Should not be laggy even in that state really.

Click your activities monitor to check with programs are running the background. Sometimes google chrome has a plugin that will slow my comp down, but once I force quit it everything is back to normal.

flaky ram, at least in the windows realm, causes problems other than lag - hard crash, no boot, random crashes of apps at seemingly random times...

im not too familiar with latency on load due to ram, but im new to os x.

my first thought is - why 5400 rpm drive? 7200 is old school and should be standard. after the new SSDs, theres no way im even going back to a platter-style drive.

I think I'm gonna get me some of that Onyx action. The trusty iMac's been acting a little off latley.
