Ok SO ... imma noob ... but heres the deal

I have Traktor Pro, my midi controller, and my laptop.

So if I wanted do do shows live ... what else would I need? Especially to get the sound from my laptop to the masses.

Soundcard will allow you to cue music in your headphones and send a better processed signal to the amp or powered speakers giving you clear sound. And that brings up the next thing you need speakers. Mackie Thumps have a pretty good rep. Audio 2 is probably the best bang for the buck when it comes to soundcards.

    Speakers would help

And Headphones. And people! That's really all you need to do a basic show/party.

Oh and something I never see people say ... PAPER TOWELS! People love to put drinks down on your table where your setup is ... and 99% of the time they will get tipped over. Very annoying but it always seems to happen, so bring a roll of paper towels.

soundcard. one of the ni cards will do, or if you feel like using firewire (which is an excellent idea) then grab a presonus firebox.

also, reading this article would probably be a good idea -> http://www.djtechtools.com/2009/12/2...ag-check-list/

other things I never leave without: masking tape, 1/4 cables, 1/4 to rca cables, 1/4 to xlr adapters, business cards, backup mix cd, sharpies, earplugs, cigarettes, lighter, sandwich meat, bread, condoms, switch blade, those glasses without the lenses, handgun, and a small popup tent.
