Default Using x1 kontrol in ableton live.

Ok so trying to get all of the traktor x1 to work in live and running in to a problem
when i go in to midi mode not all of the buttons are backlit, thos that are not backlit dont send midi msgs, so say deck b all 8 cue points are lit,but 5 on deck a are not,and they wont work

all so is there away to make the buttons have led feedback in live with the x1?

Do you add a new template to X1 Before you use it with Live....
(I mean if you "new template at the controller editor you got a default. Midi map for your X1")

found this in ableton live forum

    by smilinggoat:

You have to enable MIDI remote control for the Kontrol X1.

Live -> Prefs -> MIDI Sync -> MIDI Ports -> Input: Traktor Kontrol X1 -> Remote On

Then you can edit your controllers in the NI Controller Editor to your heart's content.

I created a new template using controller editor so I could map the buttons and encoders to perform how I wanted. EG: In the default template the browse encoders send the same message so you might want to change those so you can assign them to different things.

In order for the lights to work you need to map them to something that will send an output message to trigger that light eg: the on/off switch of a device. OR
You can send messages directly to the unit to turn them on using Bomes or the like. They wont turn on themselves you need to map it so they turn on.

In midi sync I would also turn on the Output section so messages can be sent back to the device.

Live -> Prefs -> MIDI Sync -> MIDI Ports -> OUTPUT: Traktor Kontrol X1 -> Track On Sync OFF Remote On

I've heard this problem is solved simply by turning the buttons back on in controller editor.
