Other than price what are the pros and cons of both?
Other than price what are the pros and cons of both?
S4 = Lighter and smaller, NHL (really fast responsetime), 8 Sample decks with full control over filter and effects on them, A lot more users will have one (Because of the price) so better usersupport
One is a mixer. One is a controller. You can't scratch on a 4D. You have to map the 4D. You can't use time code on the S4. You don't have 4 band EQ's on the S4. The 4D doesn't come with sick ass software. You can buy a motorcycle with the money you saved buying the S4.
The 4D doesnt have a 4-band EQ either. Thats just the Xone 92
Hmmm, your right. Stupid piece of crap 4D!!
S4 has the all in one portability factor along with the price point. The xone is excellent mixer with great sound quality and function. The xone is much more expensive!!
"Other than" Sweetwater is selling the 4D for $2799???
I'm a believer in "traditional feel" based on a turntable.... the 4D doesn't quite have the same feel as the S4, and as such is out of the running as far as I'm concerned.
it's hard to knock A&H as far as a mixers go, but assuming you don't have a pair of CDJs or turntables that need a mixer, I'd say there's no reason to get the 4D.
Even if I would never use it, I'd still want a 4D cuz it's such a killer looking beast.
dude. for 2799, the 4D better make breakfast in the morning.
