Default Can't choose Traktor Pro, automatically goes Scratch.

    Hi guys,

Sorry for the absence, I've been hugging my new laptop, until today.

I tried installing Traktor pro and for some reason it installs Scratch Pro rather then the regular, what the who?

I seem to remember having a pop up choice in the beginning between the both but I don't get that. I just get the internal / external / whatever choice the first time I installed, now I don't even get that.

The only thing that has changed (not a little) is I went from XP to Vista (Yes, it actually works, to my surprise) and I have a new lappie, Dell XPS 1330.

Anyone got any idea of what I've done wrong here?

I think it comes up as Traktor Scratch on the icon, but you don't need to use external decks. It should work regardless.

its not just the icon. it's the layout. So, while it works, it still looks nothing like the regular pro.

    Emil:

    Just to get things straight...

    1. You had Scratch + Traktor
    2. You had the free update from NI.
    3. If the above questions are TRUE, then you should have downloaded Scratch Pro
that contains both software within one package. Once installed, it will prompt you
which one do you want to use.

I did not have scratch, did not want it. I had Traktor Pro on my old lappie and tried to install it on my new lappie. But when I finished the installation and started the program, it was indeed Scratch.

I hardly know what I'm talking about in Traktor Pro cuz I'm pretty new. But I think you can hide the scratch panels by unchecking them in Preferences... Deck Details, Scratch Panels.

Or in my installation, I can just select a different layout to use if I don't want to use Scratch.
