    Default Panning

    Anyone use it?

I know I never did. I guess panning has to be the most underappreciated tool a DJ can use. I know panning was the end-all-be-all back in the 60's when Stereo was the new thing.

I've thought about mapping out a knob for pan but never get around to it. Definitely can be useful maybe once per set.

i started using it on both my decks when mixing a few months ago. It's a nice little tool to introduce new parts of a song when mixing another one but it get's kinda cheesy pretty quick.

pointless in alot of venues as their amp outputs are usually bridged, i.e. mono

Learned that the hard way once. But it really does simplify the sound setup and you don't have to worry so much about phase cancellation.

But, yeah…i've used it. Mostly when I was layering a minimal track over a real track and wanted it to kind of move around. I think I did that all of 3 times total, though.

The Pan knobs on my controller turned into part of 4-band EQs, so I'm not sorry they were there…just sorry they're labeled wrong.
