Default Goes to show a mouse+software is all you need

just read this interview with skrillex

    http://www.beatportal.com/feed/item/...cing-skrillex/

he did Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites album with just the trackpad of a macbook and ableton live and one speaker

thats pretty impressive, and just goes to show you dont need £1000's worth of gear to make something great.

+1 for gear not making the artist.

-2 for Skrillex being too cheap to at least use a USB mouse.

I'd rather smash my head between two unabridged dictionary's then try to produce an entire album on a trackpad.

Preference. I have a USB mouse sitting next to my Macbook right now. I have it plugged in just so I don't try to use it and wonder why nothing's happening, but it doesn't come up that often.

Not too sure how much I like his music but the fact that he can make it with just that is impressive.

Trackpads ftw! Couple years ago I beat COD4 on Veteran using only my trackpad >_>

+1 considering the guy has been a professional musician since he was 16. Pretty sure if I was getting decent money from music I'd be throwing it all back at machines/pads/screens/speakers/etc etc

Equipment can be a distraction and a liability.

    quite impressive.

I may have to make my next album like that Oh and a blown speaker doesn't mean one speaker, blown speakers still put out sound... albeit crappy sound, but enough to get a stereo image.
