i hate the snobism..it's DANCE-MUSIC, come on people. It's about making drunk/high people dance and have a fun time..nothing more, nothing less.

Well I don't agree with "all" but I think a large portion of DJ's are cunts.

I started of playing with pre-arranged sets in ableton when I had no controllers, but I didn't call myself a DJ then.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with digital DJ's who do no more than cross fade tracks over first last 32 bars with the odd eq tweak, it is lame, but whats really important is how they represent themselves.

To many Dj think they are awesome because they can make a continuous stream of music without obvious fuck ups. Because most of the crowd cant actually critique anything other than their music selection they get big egos, and plateau.

    Humility is everything

Djs have been rockin crowds for ages with just techs and a mixer I think the only people that really give a shit about how technical the set is are other djs , producers and gear heads most people that go to the club just wana dance to the good toons get high, drunk ect. I went clubbing last night one Dj just played on cdjs totally rocked the place two others played on ableton and tracktor they both played very technical sets BUT the cdj guy had a better toon selection and got a better crowd response.

    all three were CUNTS though

its all about the tunes you play in my book

"mind you, im not a total fucking idiot, and i recognize talent when i see it…. and there are many talented DJ’s out there for sure. In my eyes, those would be the individuals who utilize technology to deliver the music in ways that are both skillful and innovate, moreso than my vision of the “play/stop/pitch” DJ."

I think were moving on from an analog world and meshing analog and digital. Its great to see it happen and how were defending our "technique" lets keep up the fight and let us have the motivation to showcase our next move.
    Thank Ya!!!
