Default Anyone use the Express34 slot...

on their MBP with a card that expands USB's? If so does it work with your midi controllers? Does it work with an Audio8 or Audio4 connected to it? I'm thinking of getting one of these [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Superspeed-2PORT-EXPRESSCARD-Notebook-Upgrade/dp/B0032ANC7S/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=IZBIGT9G9RPQ4&colid= 19IQFDJSG4K9K[/ame]

and just wanted to know if anyone else has experience with it or something similar.

    Thanks,
    Chris

I can't tell you about mac, but with my old vaio I had a massive [ame="http://www.amazon.com/DOCKING-STATION-EXPRESS-CARD-COMPATIBLE/dp/B000YTPF4S/ref=sr_1_45?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1290447109&s r=1-45"]belkin expresscard thing[/ame] which worked fine with a midi controller. The information transfer rate through expresscard is beastly.

That's what I thought. Was/Is your controller separately powered? or was it powered through the card?

Expresscard does not provide bus power unless it has its own power supply, kind of like a powered usb hub.

Good to know, so anything I plugged into it would need to be separately powered then. I guess my controllers wouldn't work with it then.
