If you're looking at cheap and cheerful have a look at the Intimidation range. They look about in the same price range as you are looking at but look better quality. I haven't used them persoanlly so cannot vouch for them but I do use a Kam (as in the package above) amp and it's a decent quality amp.

Or have a look at second hand equiptment. I picked up my last two pairs of speakers (both Cerwin Vega) for under £500 and both sets have lasted me 3 years without a problem, and the latest pair are still going strong.

You definitely waste your time with the products from ebay - both are equipped with Piezo Tweeters. I bought something like this the first time - you go crazy because the sound is the worst thing you will ever hear. Please look for something different. You could buy some Behringer Active Speakers for the beginning (they are cheap and not bad) - when you want more sub frequencies, then you can upgrade with a subwoofer. But two 12 inch active speakers will do good work and are affordable and very handy because of the built in amp.

if you want to deafen people the second option. For a medium sized room the first option is more than ample.

I do a bit of mobile djing myself and in my opinion you cant go wrong with behringer for sound gear even though i wouldn't touch their mixers, headphones, mics ect (no offence to anyone using them i just personally hate them) i like behringer for the following reasons.

    - Cheap to purchase
    - parts are easy to find (iv replaced drivers, fixed components in crossovers[all pin through hole connections])
    - They are work horses i drive my rig (discontinued line) well passed its intended range every week and it has never once entirely packed up on me.

Overall behringer gives its bang for the buck.

No matter what you choose i would say that you should get individual bass bins and tops that way if anything does blow you have back up.
    I play everything Indie/ Rock/ HipHop/ Cheese/ Electro/ Dubstep and anything that sounds good

Those skytek double 15's look ok matt. ignore the power rating tho i doubt they can handle that juice. Good for house parties but thats about it. if they blow up at least you still have an amp
