Default How many people for/against Platinum Notes

At first I thought Platinum notes was the bee's knees but after doing a quick before and after of tracks I feel like it kills a lot of the oomph of the track.

in the same way i dont want to take an image, resize, adjust, and expect the image to be as clear as the original...

i dont want to do that to a song. seems like something of the same principle with the same bad side effects.

adjust levels when you master a track or mix

my logic on this is one is I only buy tracks that sound good. I wouldnt buy a track where the production was sounding rubbish, therefore I cant see why I'd want a program to tinker about with the tracks. To me a good track needs to have good ideas but brought to life with decent production, I dont think platinum notes could save a track.

But all that said I've never used it so hard to pass comment

Tried to use it to sort out some of my older CD rips, of which i have many that i was too stupid to rip at 320, instead are 192.

Didn't do anything except kill the dynamic range on some of the tracks.

I think it's time to retire this program. After I put monster (Kanye West) through analysis, it sucked the life out of the track. It lost that punch it had.

if you download alot of unsigned or part time producers work it usually pay's to put it through PN before putting it in a mix and if you put a whole set's worth through PN all the track's have the same volume which makes EQ much more fluid

it's an interesting concept in theory, but the mixed bag of reviews is a red flag so i haven't bothered with it.

i'd like to find a software that could auto-gain tracks better than traktor does, as it is it's pretty much useless almost 50% of the time. i just want something to adjust the volume accordingly without compressing or colouring the track so that i don't have to just rely solely on my ears as a reference.

For me, one of the best things about it is that it "repairs" clipping. You can really tell the difference before and after. After running it through PN the kicks sound so much cleaner and undistorted. It definitely helps with ear fatigue.
