Default What did you use before a MBP?

What made you switch to a mac for djing? I really want to switch but don't know if there is really a difference.

I'm getting really really really fed up of all these Mac v PC threads now. All the information you need to make an informed decision is already in the public domain, on DJ sites and also this site in particular many many many times, so just have a poke around the forum mate, you'll find the info you need.

If you can, get a mac. Stuff just works.

And so the wheel goes pointlessly round yet again!

I'm going to spam the next Mac v PC debate with Youtube Beiber. You heard!

Yes there is a difference, i had to write an app to deal with the crap way windows handles midi messages. Also mac's core audio drivers are much better than ASIO. And the ability to setup an aggregate audio device makes routing traktor and ableton together much easier.
Not to mention, i work on close to 100 computers a day(mostly dell's and hp's) but every now and again i get a day where i work on macs. And they are so much easier to diagnose/repair (except the damn powermac g5... who uses a power supply with 9 torx screws to deliver the power; and you have to remove the mobo to remove the power supply.) As far as laptops, i get clamshell ibook's that still work great; and powerbooks, intels, mbp's are pretty much just a wipe, load, and sell deal for me.

they say using a mac makes having a 2 inch dick better than if you had a 2 inch dick with a pc.

Anyone who bitches about Macs is too poor to afford one.

Anyone who bitches about Windows is too dumb to use it.

Seriously, anyone can make stupid comments like that. I could buy a new 17" MBP in a heartbeat, but I don't because I find it hilariously overpriced. My Windows 7 setup works perfectly too, out of the box, no issues at all. Half the price, same features, performance and stability.

Mac is good, no doubt about that. But their pricing can be bitched about.
Their company philosophy too, but that's probably quite unrelated.

+1000000! I think you'll find that Windows 7 'just works' too. I hate this Mac chumming!!
