Serial port on public pc

Hi!

I don't have any pc with serial port, but they are some pc with serial at my univeristy.
So the question is simple! Is it possible to upgrade the firmware without install any software? I'm not allowed to do it...

maybe install it on my pc (in wmware fusion), then copy the folder in a usb key, and execute it in the university pc?
I tried it today but it tells me that security file is corrupted, I need a code or something like that... i'll try to download it again and reinstall it....
(I hope i'll be able to do it before i receive the firmware kit... if i receive it one day)
