Dicer or X1

Hi i'm new to this forum and i've tried searching for some reviews on the Dicer and the Kontrol X1. i used Serato with 2 tables and i tried to use that denon DN-HC1000s but found that it was too awkward for the usb connection and the software never found it.

i dj dubstep and hip hop and i need something easy to use with minimum hassle setting up.

so which one shud i get?: Dicer Or X1.

Here's a good video on the X1 which I think there's more possible with. It's hard to find a video on the dicer that's not just people showing of their scratching ability or inability for that matter.

My votes get dicers or a midifighter (the Serato mapping is pretty sick). The X1 is great though, but I personally didn't like it (the buttons where an awkward shape, size, and feel for my taste; you had to be pretty specific with your movement when you reached over to press a button).

ive found nothing wrong with my dicers thus far

as for the x1, i havnt used it

same goes for the MF

it all boils down to how you want things laid out, what you need (button/ knob) and what you want to pay.

i have a x1, hc-1000, and the midifighter, but i still havent tried the dicer. my personal choice is the x1. It just feels right. If you play on 1200's i would say go with the dicers cuz of the 45 adapters

Well, imo, it's all dependent on if you want knobs and buttons, or are okay with just buttons.

I have an x1 that i use with traktor but if your using turntables the dicers might be a better solution because they are a better size than the x1. Ive used both and my personal choice would be the x1.

I have 2 midi fighters and an X1.

I use 2xmidifighters 1xX1 and a dnx120.

Dicers would be ideal for space

midi-fighters are very responsive and deadly if your mashing things up but probably not as handy if your doing long mixes.

Why exactly to you wish to add the controllers to the setup?

If your doing it just for cue point access then I'd start with the Dicers and then get an X1 next. Haha.

Like Porkie said, if your doing just cue points and loops the Dicers work perfectly. I love how they fit perfectly on my 1200s. If you need to control the SSL effects I would suggest looking at other options because you will need the knobs. Or go for a combination. I used to have an Akai Mpd24 that I picked up on craigslist for very little money and it had 16 pads, 8 knobs and 6 sliders. No LEDs though.

Serato + Tables + DICERS! You'd probably get more functionality with the X1, but I would get dicers first. They're about half the cost, and you get some pretty nice effects for transitions, and remixing - PLUS, they fit right into the adapter ports of the 1200's, or can be mounted with velcro, or the putty stuff that comes with the set. If you don't like them, I don't think it would be hard to get them off of your hands for what you bought them for. I ordered them, then moved to the X1, only because I use Traktor, 2 CDJ-800's, and wanted the knobs for navigating through Traktor, efx, etc... I've got a buddy who uses TT's and Serato, and sold the Dicers to him. He LOVES them! Either way, get something, and KNOCK 'EM OUT!
